“Murder, cruelty and unmasked revenge”: Jashin suspects Navalny was killed as a demonstration of power
For the Russian opposition activist Yashin there is no doubt that the death of his long-time friend was murder.
Putin “ordered” Navalny’s killing, he wrote in a letter, according to

.
Because of the upcoming presidential election in Russia, the Russian leader "demonstratively" killed Navalny - so that "no one would doubt Putin's involvement," it said.
For the Russian president, power is expressed through “murder, cruelty and revealing revenge.” This makes him more of a “gang leader” than a statesman.

“Fighting against tyranny”: Navalny’s death strengthens Yashin’s resolve
That's why Yashin is now more determined than before to continue the fight against Putin.
“As long as my heart beats in my chest, I will fight against tyranny,” he wrote.
His late friend will go down in history as a “man of extraordinary courage”.
Navalny “died a hero” because he “went forward with a smile” for his convictions, Yashin explained.
Putin, on the other hand, is a “small man.”
“Painful”: Russia stages political trials against opposition
Like Navalny, the opposition activist Yashin is known for his criticism of the Kremlin.
He is serving his sentence of eight and a half years in prison in the Safono penal colony near the western Russian city of Smolensk.
He denounced the “murder of civilians in Bucha” by the Russian military in the Ukraine war.

The trial was politically staged, said Yashin when his verdict was announced on December 9, 2022. “The authorities want to scare us all with this hysterical verdict, but in fact they have only shown their weakness,” he wrote on his Telegram channel at the time.
According to
Bild am Sonntag,
Yashin commented in a previous letter that became public last year: “I understand that with this verdict the state power confirms that my criticism was very painful for the Kremlin.”
