For several days, alarming statements have been made in the media on the worrying state of the Eiffel Tower, denounced by the staff of the Société d'Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (99% managed by the Paris town hall) which is went on strike on February 19 to raise the alarm.
Highlighting the risks for the perpetuation of the monument which they consider
“in a state of disrepair”
, the unions intend to continue their movement for as long as necessary.
They criticize the Paris town hall for poor financial management and a search for profitability at all costs.
They point out in particular a sharp increase in the fee required by the municipality which would go from 16 to 50 million euros per year as well as an undervaluation of the works budgets, points to be included in an amendment to the SETE contract which would be presented at the Paris council in May…
