Prime time on private broadcasters was also more than varied on February 19, 2024.

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” can’t be beat: RTL quiz show scores on Monday evening

Most recently, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” attracted attention less with good ratings than with glitches.

Three times within just a few weeks everything on set didn't go as planned.

A press spokesman revealed to IPPEN.MEDIA

why RTL broadcast the relevant mistakes even though “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” was pre-recorded and edited

.

But these glitches obviously didn't cost the Cologne broadcaster any viewers - because on Monday evening Günther Jauch (67) was able to score points again.

As can be seen

in the figures center on

dwdl.de , “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” was able to clearly outpace the competition from private broadcasters.

With 0.7 million viewers, RTL secured a 14.4 percent market share in the advertising-relevant target group.

The Geissens' primetime episode only had 0.32 million viewers, which corresponds to a market share of 5.8 percent.

Things went a little better for the next episode at 9:15 p.m., which had 0.4 million viewers and a 7.4 percent market share.

In terms of total audience, the RTL quiz show reached 3.55 million people - however, “Die Geissens” does not even appear among the top 25 formats of the day.

What number of viewers set the record in Germany?

On July 13, 2014, ARD made television history: According to estimates, a whopping 34.65 million people watched the World Cup final between Germany and Argentina (1-0 n.V.) on their own television sets.

Incorrect: People who followed the game during public viewing or in bars were not taken into account in this count.

The actual number is likely to be considerably higher.

Private broadcasters were defeated - but ZDF took the day's victory

The third episode of “First Dates Hotel” on Vox also didn’t come close to “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”

Roland Trettl (52) was able to attract “only” 0.5 million people from the target group of 14 to 49 year olds to their screens with his dating show.

Even fewer viewers watched “The Biggst Loser” on Sat.1.

The day's victory was once again secured by a ZDF crime thriller.

“Spreewaldkrimi – Till death do you part” was shown on the public channel.

With six million viewers and 22.5 percent market value, this was the most-watched program item of the day.
