It has been almost two years since Russia invaded Ukraine.
A memorial service will now be held in Weilheim - on the anniversary of the start of the war - for Ukraine and the victims of the war.
Weilheim - The actors of the Monday vigil for “Peace, Democracy and Solidarity” are holding a 45-minute memorial service on Saturday at 11 a.m. to mark the second anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine.
The memorial service will take place at Weilheim's Marienplatz.
In addition to a few pieces of music, short reports are planned from the Ukrainian doctor Myroslava Schimke-Klubuk and her husband Felix Schimke, as well as from a Ukrainian refugee and some information about the district's “Solidarity Ukraine”.
This memorial event will be moderated by the third mayor Alfred Honisch and Brigitte Gronau.
Both have been leading the Monday vigils for over two years (first on the church square, now on Reinhard-Schmid-Platz).
