The leader of the Democratic Party group absents herself during the evening session of the city council to go and breastfeed her 8-month-old son and in the city council chamber the argument breaks out between the majority and the opposition with accusations of little attachment to politics towards the woman, Marta Bruschi, who according to some was even insulted.

It happened in Biella, as documented today by a local TV station and as it was taken up by the PD deputies who published a fragment of the speech in the chamber by a League councilor, Alessio Ercoli, who attacks the dem group leader for her absence .

Marta Bruschi, president of the Pd group and a few days ago candidate for mayor of Biella for the centre-left in the June local elections, is absent "for family reasons".

A decision that Northern League member Ercoli does not like: "I see - he says in his speech in the chamber - that there is an important absence among the minority benches. With two resolutions to go, the new PD group leader and mayoral candidate has left. He's not just any councillor, it's 9.30 in the evening, this shows an excellent interest - he jokes - in politics. I imagine how he could be mayor one day."

The words of the League councilor light the fuse.

Andrea Foglio Bonda, councilor of 'Buongiorno Biella' urges him: "Are you seriously saying that a woman who goes to look after her little girl cannot be a mayor?".

In the courtroom the controversy flares up.

The episode does not remain limited to Biella and today, the deputies of the Democratic Party publish on Instagram a clip of the speech of the Northern League councilor and words of comment: "Solidarity with Marta Bruschi, the mayoral candidate of the Democratic Party in Biella who she was absent from the city council chamber for a few minutes to go and breastfeed her daughter and, for this reason, she was insulted by a League councilor. "This is who they are - the Dems underline - they talk a lot about family and violently attack a woman because takes care of her daughter.

And they go so far as to tell her that, for this reason, she "cannot be mayor".

A repulsive scene.

Come on Marta."
