The doyenne of French cinema began her career in the 1930s. She starred alongside Gérard Philipe in

The actress from
La Dame aux camélias
(1953) distinguished herself in films directed by the biggest names in cinema: Jacques Demy, Alain Resnais, Fritz Lang and Sacha Guitry.
Professionals in the field reacted with one voice to the announcement of his death.
The César Academy praised the actress in an Instagram post:
“Micheline Presle was an emblematic figure of French cinema.”
