Anyone who says that young people hardly read anymore is at least partly on the wrong track: Twelve sixth-grade students from middle school, secondary school and high school took part in the Börsenverein's reading competition, which is organized by the Osiander bookstore.

We are looking for a candidate who can run for the district in the Upper Bavaria-Nord district decision.

Landsberg - Once again those who love to read met in the attic of the Landsberg city library to read aloud.

Stories from young adult books such as “A little confetti doesn't make a friend” by Ines Maria Jiménez or Roald Dahl's “Matilda” were heard.

The twelve readers have already won: the preliminary round in their respective schools as the best or best in school.

A passage from a book chosen by the young people is read.

The five-member jury then selects those who are allowed to read again - namely a foreign text that Osiander employee Isabel Tzschaschel gives them.

All twelve readers read well - some a little faster, others a little louder, others excelled with voice changes for different people in the story they read.

One thing ended up being a little better: high school student Elena Doundoulakis was allowed to represent the district at the district decision.

“Although the decision was close at 3 to 2.

“The high school student Ameline Lamy was also excellent,” as IKG student Jakob Oberndörfer reported.

The head of the IKG student library represented last year's winner Lena Berger, who was unfortunately unable to attend, as a jury member.

In addition to Elena from the high school, the best students of the school types were Benno Huppmann (juniary school) and Antonia Beitermannn (middle school).

Elena is now allowed to go to the Upper Bavaria-Nord district decision, which is scheduled to take place from mid-March to the end of April.

From there, two winners will be determined, who will then advance to the state finals in May.
