First aiders save the life of a driver: resuscitation thanks to first aid course

Highlights: A 42-year-old Munich woman drove her VW off the A995 at the Unterhaching Nord motorway exit at around 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st. Two uninvolved road users got the woman out of the car and began resuscitation measures. One of the first aiders is currently completing a three-day first aid course and was therefore able to intervene boldly. Both cars sustained minor damage as a result of the collision. The woman was finally taken to hospital by emergency services.

- As the police report, a 42-year-old Munich woman drove her VW off the A995 at the Unterhaching Nord motorway exit at around 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st.

At the junction with Münchner Straße she wanted to turn right, but had to wait due to traffic.

A 55-year-old driver of a small van who lives in the Munich district reacted too late and crashed into the rear of the VW.

Both cars sustained minor damage as a result of the collision.

First aider has just completed a first aid course

The 42-year-old initially sat in the driver's seat after the traffic accident and said she felt nauseous.

Shortly afterwards she became unconscious.

Two uninvolved road users got the woman out of the car and began resuscitation measures.

One of the first aiders is currently completing a three-day first aid course and was therefore able to intervene boldly.

Police officers take over resuscitation

The arriving patrol crew from Police Station 31 (Unterhaching) then took over the resuscitation measures until the emergency services arrived.

The 42-year-old was finally taken to hospital by emergency services.

At this point, according to the police report, she was already showing signs of life.

How the woman is doing now is unclear.

Road completely closed

The motorway exit and the access road to the district road were completely closed for the duration of the accident investigation.

Traffic was diverted.

The Munich traffic police have taken over the further investigation.
