Yesterday morning, a 56-year-old driver in Marktoberdorf had incredible luck when he fainted while driving while his car continued to drive over 100 meters.
The property damage is considerable, but miraculously neither he nor anyone else was injured.
Marktoberdorf -
On Wednesday morning, a 56-year-old car driver drove towards the town on Kaufbeurener Straße.
According to the police report, the man passed out behind the wheel at about Moosstrasse and got into the oncoming lane, where he hit an oncoming car, then left the road to the left and drove into a meadow.
The whole thing could have ended here, but that wasn't the case because the car continued on its journey.
After driving about a hundred meters through the adjacent meadow, the car got back onto the road, crossed it again without another collision occurring and, after driving down a steep embankment, finally came to a stop.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
However, the person who caused the accident was taken to a nearby hospital to have his health checked.
According to police estimates, the two vehicles involved suffered total damage of around 20,000 euros.
