"The commitment to sustainability does not allow for backward steps: the Italian government supports the adoption of the EU Directive on the duty of responsibility of companies for the purposes of sustainability and commits itself to a more sustainable and ethical future, defining a functional regulatory system to express the positive potential of the provision and, at the same time, consistent with the needs of businesses".
This was asked by Simone Gamberini, president of Legacoop, referring - explains a note - "to the postponement of the ratification, following declarations of possible abstentions by some member states of the Union, of the directive on which a political agreement was reached between the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament on 14 December 2023.
Legacoop underlines "the need for the transposition of the directive by our country to take place with the definition of effective measures but, at the same time, providing timing and conditions that allow the gradual adhesion of companies, in consideration of their size and complexity".
