Police and Carabinieri conducted an operation, called "Gallicò" - a neighborhood on the northern outskirts of Reggio Calabria - for the execution of two precautionary orders against 18 people - 16 in prison, one under house arrest and an obligation to report to pg - issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Reggio Calabria DDA.
In the investigation coordinated by the prosecutor Giovanni Bombardieri and the deputy Walter Ignazitto and conducted by the Flying Squad and the Carabinieri, various crimes are contested including mafia association, murder, extortion, usury, illegal possession of weapons and fictitious registration of assets. The suspects are 40.
