The elderly and sick Lupine, a little dog, ended up in the water in the Giudecca canal in Venice but Valentina Comin, a restaurateur who witnessed the scene, did not hesitate to save him by diving in.
The little dog, deaf and blind, was unable to react and the woman, passionate about swimming, took off her clothes, reached him and with the help of some passers-by brought him to safety.
She herself went back to shore with assistance and then took refuge in her restaurant to dry and warm up, given the low temperatures.
A story that Social Councilor Simone Venturini returns to today, saying: "congratulations to the entrepreneur Valentina Comin who, last night, noticed an elderly dog in difficulty immediately after slipping from the Giudecca foundations. A few minutes and Lupine would have had no escape given the cold temperatures and the wave motion. Valentina managed to reach him and, with a few strokes, bring him back to dry water, saving his life. A gesture of great generosity, congratulations", he concludes.
