Moscow - Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent figure in Russian state media and a staunch ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has once again gone public with one of his feared ideas.

, the tireless Kremlin propagandist suggested that Moscow equip Yemen's Houthi rebels with Russian weapons to use in attacks against U.S. and British ships.

Houthi militia responsible for attacks in Red Sea
The Houthi militia has repeatedly attacked Israel since the Israeli war broke out almost five months ago, including with drones and rockets.
With its attacks and shelling of ships in the Red Sea, the militia wants to force an end to the conflict that was triggered by the massacre by the Islamist Hamas in Israel on October 7th.

For their part, US forces have said they have again launched “self-defense attacks” against Houthi positions in Yemen.
Armed forces from the US military command Central Command (Centcom), which is responsible for the Middle East, carried out four attacks against seven mobile anti-ship missiles and a mobile rocket launcher on Wednesday (February 21), Centcom said in the online service X. A drone was also shot down.
The projectiles were fired from areas in Yemen controlled by the Houthi militia, Centcom said.
They posed “an imminent threat to commercial and U.S. Navy vessels in the region.”
Kremlin propagandist wants “strong weapons” for the rebels
Solovyov believes that the Kremlin should supply the Houthis with weapons in order to take revenge on the Western countries that continue to support Kiev in Ukraine's war against the invasion of Russian troops - or rather: the "special military operation", as it is called Moscow is still the official language.
In his broadcast, Solovyov responded to Russian media reports that a NATO ally, possibly Germany, plans to supply Kiev with long-range missiles capable of reaching Crimea.

Solovyov then raised recent allegations from Russian government sources that a British drone was shot down by Russian air defense systems in the occupied Luhansk region of Ukraine.
He then returned to the subject of the Middle East and advocated arming the Houthis to attack US and British targets: “Such are the times.
