The Geretsried organic butchery Pichler recently received an award for its original organic regional Wiesnhendl.
This award means a lot to the company.
Geretsried
– Sustainability is on everyone’s lips.
For many people, organically produced food is also part of a sustainable lifestyle.
The Geretsried organic butchery Pichler recently received an award for its organic meat.
Pichler organic butchery an “outstanding flagship product from the region”
30 percent organic by 2030: To achieve this goal, Bavarian organic farms are setting a good example.
Ten of them were honored as part of the “30 for 30” initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism (StMELF).
An “outstanding flagship product from the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen region,” as stated in a statement from the StMELF, are the “real original organic regional Wiesnhendl, fresh from the grill all year round” from Pichler Biofleisch.
“We have been a long-standing supplier of organic Wiesn chicken for the Oktoberfest and have been awarded the Bavarian organic seal for the production and marketing of original organic Wiesn chicken,” explains Eva Klotz, representative of the management of Pichler Biofleisch.

“The '30 for 30' award means a lot to us because it shows great recognition and appreciation for our work.
We are proud to be part of a movement that is committed to a better future for Bavaria and the world,” said Klotz.
In her opinion, the project also promotes Bavaria's regional organic identity, “because Bavaria is known worldwide for Oktoberfest and Oktoberfest is known for its Wiesn-Hendl.
Bavarian tradition and international fame come together here.”
Regional organic as a sustainable overall concept
Klotz cannot agree with the slogan “Regio is the new organic,” as she explained to our newspaper.
“Regional products that are not certified organic are not enough for me.
What good is the farmer in my immediate neighborhood if he sprays his vegetables, fruit or grain or cultivates monocultures where insects and native animals have no chance of survival?
“I don’t want any poisons like pesticides and fungicides in my immediate neighborhood,” says Klotz.
According to her, regional organic is “not a short-term individual solution, but a sustainable overall concept”.
Pichler Biofleisch moved from Gräfelfing to Geretsried in 2018.
“We quickly felt at home and benefited from the many advantages of the Geretsried industrial area and its proximity to Munich,” says Klotz.
Animals are raised in the surrounding area
The animals that the company processes “are lovingly raised by our long-standing partner companies in the surrounding area.
We are in close contact and the slaughter takes place on the farms themselves or at the nearest butcher.”

All participating companies are users of the Bavarian organic seal
According to the announcement, the “30 for 30” initiative has been honoring a total of 30 lighthouse projects in six rounds since 2021 that are advancing organic regional nutrition in Bavaria with modern and innovative concepts.
All participating companies are users of the Bavarian Organic Seal, which is a recognized seal of quality that offers consumers guidance when purchasing Bavarian organic products.
“The '30 for 30' initiative makes a major contribution to more organic food in Bavaria,” Hubert Bittlmayer, head of the Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism, is quoted as saying.
“This award is intended to publicly appreciate the companies’ exemplary achievements and to inspire and motivate other companies.
At the same time, we want to bring consumers closer to organic food from the region and thus further promote organic farming in Bavaria.”
