As promised during January's "Unpacked" event, Samsung will bring the AI features of the Galaxy S24 smartphones to the Galaxy S23 released last year and a handful of other devices.
The company confirmed this with an official statement in which it states that Galaxy Ai will also enhance the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 foldable range and the S9 family tablets.
The lot will receive, at different times from country to country, the relevant software updates so as to implement features such as Chat Assist (adjusts the tone of messages and translates messages), Live Translate (real-time voice and text translations) and Interpreter ( split-screen translation for in-person conversations).
There will also be "Circle and search", the option which, in collaboration with Google, allows you to hold down the device's home button to locate what you want on the screen and start a visual search on the web.
Galaxy AI also enters the Notes app and voice recordings.
For both, it can create summaries of long texts and transcribe speech, translating it if necessary.
In both cases, AI is able to modify the text by suggesting alternatives to write the same things differently, making the most of generative artificial intelligence.
As for multimedia, the Galaxy S23 will be able, like the S24, to isolate subjects and objects in photos already taken, even over the years, to reposition them, remove them by adding the missing background, or replace them with similar elements.
The full list of devices that will receive the update starting in March includes Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 Fe, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9.
