In September of this year the time has come: the SAP Garden, Munich's new sports arena, opens in the Olympic Park.
A top American team is a guest at the start.
Munich - After a two-year delay, the SAP Garden will finally open this year: On September 27th it starts in the new sports arena in the Olympic Park in Munich - with an ice hockey game between EHC Red Bull Munich and a professional team from the National Hockey League (NHL).
The Süddeutsche Zeitung reported this.
There is a lot of construction going on on the new sports arena in Munich.

An ice hockey game marks the start of the opening of the SAP Gardens in the Olympic Park in Munich
Red Bull announced which guest team will face Munich in the coming weeks.
An open day is also planned for the opening weekend (September 28th): throughout the day, all Munich residents can get a first impression of the new landmark, according to the sports facility's website.
At the end of the day there is a game by the FC Bayern basketball team.

The sports arena was actually supposed to open in Munich in 2022
The SAP Garden in Munich's Olympic Park was originally supposed to open in 2022, around two years ago.
The arena should be able to accommodate up to 11,500 spectators.
It will be the new home of the EHC Red Bull Munich ice hockey club and the FC Bayern basketball team: they will play their home games in the new hall.
In addition to the basketball and ice hockey venues, there will also be three ice sports areas with a total area of 5,400 square meters that can be used all year round.
