He was accused of touching and stroking his colleague in several places on his upper body and running his fingers through the hair at the security checkpoint at Munich Airport. The 44-year-old could have saved himself a trip to court.

The punishment would almost have been significantly higher.

She saw it as an indecent assault, he saw it as a joke at work.

In the end it became a case for the justice system.

A 44-year-old from Moosburg had to answer for sexual harassment before the Erding district court on Wednesday.

Erding/Moosburg/Airport - The Landshut public prosecutor's office accused the man in a fine of 750 euros of touching and stroking his colleague in several places on his upper body and running his fingers through the hair at the security checkpoint at Munich Airport on May 20 last year .

The Romanian from Moosburg was dismissed without notice after the woman reported her job.

The victim himself was on sick leave for three months and is still receiving psychological treatment.

The 44-year-old appealed against the penalty order - less because of the already low fine of 750 euros.

Rather, the currently unemployed person wants to get a bus driver's license so that he can then drive school buses.

A conviction for a sexual offense would scupper those plans.

Lawyer Christian Temporale suggested that the proceedings be discontinued in exchange for a fine.

Hardly anything happened and his mandate had no criminal record.

Judge Björn Schindler and the public prosecutor would have even taken this step - in case the defendant had sincerely apologized to the victim.

But this remorse didn't really sound convincing.

The man from Moosburger said that they had always made jokes and that he had no sexual ulterior motives.

The victim's lawyer commented on the man's statement that it seemed like a mockery to her.

The public prosecutor was no longer willing to be lenient, even if this step would have increased the fine from 750 to 2,500 euros.

The prosecutor said the only way to save the victim from having to testify and avoid a higher fine was to withdraw the objection.

After a short consultation, the defendant and defense attorney took this step.

That leaves it at 750 euros.

However, the Moosburger will now have to look for a new job.
