Córdoba was shocked by the
crime of a woman by her own father
, a 75-year-old man who later took his own life.
It happened in the middle of a Zumba class in a gym in the town of La Carlota, located 270 kilometers south of the provincial capital.
The victim was identified as
Eugenia Villarruel (49)
, while the aggressor was
Teodoro Villarruel (75) , who broke into the
Acuario gym
on Wednesday night
, located at 400 San Martín Avenue. At the closing of the class that his daughter dictated, the man argued with her and shot her dead.
Daniel Miralles, temporarily in charge of the La Carlota Prosecutor's Office, raided the aggressor's house in search of the cell phone and other elements that may be useful for the case.
"Everything indicates that the man entered the gym and proceeded to attack the woman with a 22-caliber firearm and then took his own life," the prosecutor said at a press conference.
In addition, he commented that Teodoro Villarruel had received a complaint
from his daughter for a violent incident in 2020
and the Justice had issued a perimeter restriction towards her for 180 days.
