The Delegation of Argentine Israeli Associations

(DAIA)

came out to repudiate the closure of the National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI) reported this Thursday by the Government.

For the Jewish organization, the measure

"attacks peaceful coexistence."

In a message published on its social networks, the DAIA maintained that "discrimination in Argentina is a problem suffered by various groups."

"That is why the DAIA, together with other organizations, promoted the creation of INADI almost three decades ago, a true example in the world," he recalled.

In that sense, the organization stated that the decision reported by the Government to close the INADI

"attacks the protection of the right to equality and peaceful coexistence

of our society, which is an example worldwide."

The person in charge of announcing that the Government will proceed to close the institute was Manuel Adorni in his usual press conference at Casa Rosada.

"We are taking the first steps to move forward in the dismantling of different institutes that

are useless or are big boxes of politics.

We are starting with the first: the INADI," he revealed.

Adorni confirmed that work has begun for "its definitive closure," but warned that it will take "a while" due to

"bureaucratic issues."

The presidential spokesperson specified that currently the institute

had 400 employees and dozens of offices throughout the country.

And he warned: "These types of institutes have the peculiarity that they are run by officials of dubious suitability."
