REVIEW - Around a mysterious painting by Klimt, the novelist weaves a wildly romantic story.

First the facts:

Portrait of a Lady

, is a work by the great Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.

Purchased by a collector at the beginning of the 20th century, the Ricci Oddi Museum of Modern Art, in Piacenza, Italy, eventually acquired it.

Quiet days pass there under the fascinated gaze of the public.

And then, in 1997, thunderbolt!

The painting is stolen.

Then found twenty-two years later in the garden of the same museum.

An incomprehensible affair and a blessing for Camille de Peretti who sees in this affair a wonderful subject for a novel.

Especially since in 1996, the mystery deepens: an art student discovers what no one had ever suspected, this painting is a repainting, understand that Klimt reworked it.
