The Working Holiday program allows you to stay in a foreign country for vacation, while being able to study or work there.
The aim of this visa is to discover the culture of the destination in a context other than that of a tourist trip alone.
It allows the visitor to stay on site for twelve months – a period which can be renewed twice, under certain conditions.
French people wishing to take up employment during this year are protected by Australian labor law.
Anyone who comes to study can follow a course for a maximum of four months.
Between July 2022 and June 2023 alone, more than 21,600 Working Holiday visas were granted to French people
3035 euros in his bank account
To obtain this very special visa, you must go to the Australian immigration website and pay the sum of 635 Australian dollars – or approximately 385 euros.
And you have to meet well-defined criteria.
First of all, it is impossible to make a first PVT application if you are already in Australia.
Holding a French passport is also a prerequisite.
It is impossible to be accompanied by a dependent child or other family members.
You must also have insurance (sickness, maternity, disability, hospitalization and repatriation costs).
Last condition, and not the least: have at least 5000 Australian dollars (around 3035 euros) to meet your needs.
It is possible to apply for a second – and even a third – Working Holiday visa, which will allow you to stay for an additional twelve months in Australia.
But in this case too, the requests obey very specific criteria.
Thus, you must be able to carry out any type of work in Australia, and have already worked three full months (six for a third visa application) there.
Australia offers Working Holiday visas to many countries, including Belgium and Canada.
For its part, France has signed Working Holiday visa agreements with fifteen countries, in addition to Australia: Chile, Canada, New Zealand, Colombia, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong , Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Taiwan, Mexico, Brazil and Peru.
