His co-driver, also from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, was freed from the wreckage with serious injuries.
The massive impact catapulted the small car over the guardrail into a ditch.
A woman who was approaching in her Mercedes Vito and was involved in the accident was seriously injured as a result of the accident.
Her young dog was rescued by the fire department and handed over to animal protection.
“After we arrived at the scene of the accident, the first thing we did was take care of the injured and provide first aid.
Unfortunately, any help came too late for one man.
After fire protection was ensured and a full closure was set up, we took care of the leaked operating materials.
The Murnau and Hechendorf fire departments were on duty with 45 volunteers,” explains first commander Florian Krammer.
Other occupants in the other two vehicles were injured, some seriously.
In addition to a large contingent of emergency services, a rescue helicopter was also used.
The Murnau police called in the Weilheim traffic police to provide technical support on site.
“The cause and who caused it is currently unclear, which is why an expert was called in to prepare an accident analysis report.
If witnesses observed the accident, we ask them to contact the Murnau police (08841-61760),” said Joachim Loy from the Murnau police.
The complete closure of the B2 lasted until the afternoon.
