Public transport passengers will have to prepare for restrictions in the coming week.
The Verdi union announced a nationwide “wave of strikes” at municipal transport companies on Thursday.
Warning strikes are also being prepared in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
Leipzig - Strikes should take place at different times in the individual federal states, but “mainly all day and predominantly over several days,” said Verdi.
When and where exactly buses and trains will not run should be announced “in good time”.
The main strike day will be March 1st.
On that day, Fridays For Future is organizing numerous demonstrations against the climate crisis.
Verdi is negotiating in parallel with local employers' associations in all three countries about new collective agreements for public transport employees.
The requirements differ from state to state.
