The political climate against the Greens is becoming harsher.
Once again the party had to cancel an event due to security concerns - this time in the Bamberg district.
Hirschaid - The Bamberg-Land Green District Association canceled its annual general meeting on Wednesday evening (February 21) for security reasons.
Around 300 demonstrating farmers disrupted party members and interrupted the meeting.

The farmers gathered with 60 tractors in front of the event location in Hirschaid.

The protests were so violent that the party members present decided to break off their meeting early.

“Many party colleagues did not feel safe and were extremely afraid.” The situation was alarming, said the district chairman, because party work is very important for democracy.
The police now have a duty to better ensure the security of democratic party meetings in the future.
On Wednesday he personally made several emergency calls because there were not enough emergency services on site.

The incident in Hirschaid was not an isolated case.
According to the dpa,
there have been repeated riots and insults as part of the farmers' protests
in recent weeks , for example when Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) was insulted in Nuremberg last week.
Criticism of the mobilization is now coming from various quarters.
For example, Jochen Kopelke, head of the GdP police union, warned of radicalization and a growing danger from the farmers' protests.
