Highlights: “He still likes to drink a sip of beer’: Wolfratshauser celebrates his 95th birthday. “We have never had two mayors on one birthday here,” said a long-time employee of the senior living park. The sprightly senior citizen moved there a year ago because his family couldn't find a nursing home place in the southern district. The trained woodworker previously ran a farm in Gaißach and at times also managed some alpine pastures in the region.

Two mayors congratulated Nikolaus Kell in Wolfratshausen on his 95th birthday.

Because in his home village of Gaißach, the anniversary man is still unforgotten to this day.

Wolfratshausen – He was born at home in Gaißach in 1929 and now has four daughters, two sons, 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

The large number of well-wishers on his 95th birthday recently proved that Nikolaus Kell, who now lives in the Wolfratshauser ASB senior living park on Moosbauerweg, will never be forgotten, especially in his home village.

Wolfratshausen: Nikolaus Kell is 95 years old - he is still not forgotten in his hometown of Gaißach

The mayor of Gaißach, Stefan Fadinger, was happy to travel to the northern district to present the jubilee with a beer mug with the municipal coat of arms printed on it - with a matching bottle, of course.

“He still likes to drink a sip of beer,” revealed Kell’s daughter Theresia Hohenreiter.

This preference doesn't seem to be detrimental to her father's health.

In a good mood, Nikolaus Kell also accepted congratulations and a gift from Wolfratshausen town hall boss Klaus Heilinglechner.

“He was always hard-working and well integrated into village life,” said his son of the same name.

Kell was temporarily involved in the supervisory board of the Raiffeisenbank, was a sexton and was also active for a long time with the Schützen.

His wife Maria died in 1995 at the age of 64.

Kell celebrated his birthday with his family with coffee and cake at the festively decorated tables in the lounge of the seniors' park.

He probably only filled up the beer mug that town hall boss Fadinger brought with him in the evening to mark the culmination of his special day.
