The CSU openly doubts Aiwanger's abilities in energy policy.

But who is really blocking progress in the energy transition?

The Greens also point to Söder.

Munich - It is the latest chapter in the dispute in the Bavaria coalition: Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) now has to regularly report to the government what he is doing regarding the energy transition in Bavaria.

The CSU announced this on Wednesday (February 21) based on a five-point plan for the Bavarian economy.

For the parliamentary group leader of the Green Party in the state parliament, Katharina Schulze, it is clear: the CSU openly doubts Aiwanger's abilities; he is being called in to report like “a schoolboy.”

So is Aiwanger the sole culprit for Bavaria's failures in energy and economic policy?

Or does he serve Prime Minister Markus Söder and the CSU more as a waddling man?

In any case, the allegations against the Free Voters leader and Economics Minister are violent.

Leading CSU people accuse him of “demo hopping” instead of practical work and a lack of presence and commitment.

CSU parliamentary group leader Klaus Holetschek even said that Aiwanger was “a little problem bear”.

Aiwanger as a “problem bear”?

Söder blocked wind power expansion in Bavaria for years

If Aiwanger is the little problem bear, Söder may be the big one.

Because he has to accept the accusation of having blocked the expansion of wind power in Bavaria for years.

The Green Party member of the state parliament, Martin Stümpfing, spokesman for energy and climate protection, told

Merkur.de

from IPPEN.MEDIA: “Those who sit in glass houses should not throw stones.” The CSU has made “big mistakes” when it comes to energy and climate protection in the past "made.

“And to this day she has not yet admitted these mistakes”.

The CSU needs more than presenting a five-point plan and demanding a half-yearly report from Aiwanger.

“But so far I just don’t see any will to finally ignite the turbo.”

Green Party leader Schulze: “Söder has relied on cheap oil and gas for years”

Green party leader Katharina Schulze also speaks of a “completely misguided energy policy” in Bavaria, and not just since Aiwanger.

“For years, Söder and his predecessors have campaigned against wind power and the construction of additional power lines, preferring to rely on cheap oil and gas,” was their statement on the CSU five-point plan on Wednesday.

SPD parliamentary group leader Florian von Brunn also said that Söder could not simply send his minister forward, especially when it came to the issue of wind power expansion.

Green Party spokesman criticizes Aiwanger and Söder for “topic hopping”

The climate protection spokesman for the Bavarian Greens, Martin Stümpfing, also sees major mistakes in Economics Minister Aiwanger: “He doesn't stick to the issues.

He starts one topic and then he's back to the next and the next.

He has certain similarities with Prime Minister Markus Söder, who also does this kind of topic hopping.”

Especially in the area of the energy transition, “where you have to plan over decades, it’s simply poison,” said the Green Party’s climate protection expert.

The government is “completely missing the common thread”.

Aiwanger liked to rely on easy-to-achieve successes that would allow him to quickly score points with voters.

On the other hand, he is happy to leave aside projects that require a lot of patience and are initially unpopular.

“This is populism,” says the Green politician.

Green Party spokesman: Söder, like Aiwanger, is often “about the short-term headline”

It's similar with Söder: He's also "often interested in the short-term headline to show that we're really great in Bavaria."

But often nothing comes of it.

When it comes to the renovation of state buildings, photovoltaics on state roofs and the acceleration of wind power, Bavaria, for example, is doing “very badly” compared to other federal states.

So is the CSU using a diversionary maneuver by now pointing the finger at Aiwanger's failings?

In any case, the Free Voters leader himself is calm.

He said on Wednesday (February 21) that he was happy about “every effort to improve the economic conditions.”
