A 17-year-old student died after being hit this morning just before 8am by a vehicle, whose driver then ran away after the accident.
It happened in Bussana, a hamlet of Sanremo.
The boy was in the company of his 15 year old sister and was walking along the wall when the vehicle hit them both.
The girl was transferred to the Pietra Ligure hospital due to the numerous and very serious polytraumas reported.
The driver was subsequently stopped.
The man, tracked down by the police thanks to the descriptions of the truck provided by a witness, had just finished delivering the goods to a local company.
He told the police that he hadn't noticed anything.
The truck was seized and the driver transferred to hospital for the necessary medical tests.
