Snow comeback in Bavaria: DWD announces up to 20 centimeters

In the current warning report from the German Weather Service (DWD) there is talk of fresh snow - and not that little of it.

This is what the forecast says: “Next night in the Alps the snowfall line will drop to around 1,000 meters, above which there will be 5-10 widespread snowfall by Tuesday, in the Allgäu in high-altitude storage areas up to 20 centimeters of fresh snow.”

The previously mild February will receive a small burst of cold at the start of the week in Bavaria - up to 20 centimeters of fresh snow is possible in the Alpine region, reports the German Weather Service.

A look at the temperature forecast underlines the snow comeback.

In the south of Bavaria the temperatures fall to around seven to nine degrees, in the rest of Bavaria it still remains in the double digits.

On Tuesday, the entire Free State only starts the day at around five degrees, before it gets a little warmer again in the evening - with the exception of the Alpine region, it's around ten degrees again.

Temperatures will rise again from the middle of the week - but it will remain wet

According to the DWD, it could snow again tomorrow, Tuesday evening, February 20th.

Over the course of Wednesday, February 21st, temperatures will rise again to around 13 degrees throughout Bavaria.

On Thursday, February 22nd, 14 degrees are possible in Munich, and more like twelve degrees in the rest of Bavaria - but it is expected to rain across the board.
