The accident that created an enigma

Carlitos Menem Junior

died on March 15, 1995

, when the helicopter he was piloting collided with high tension lines and crashed to the ground in Ramallo, Province of Buenos Aires.

Zulema Yoma and Zulemita Menem will give their version of Carlitos' death in Max's documentary.

After the incident was investigated, the court stated that it was a mere accident.

However, it was

her mother, Zulema Fátima Yoma, who always maintained that it was an attack.

The case went a long way in the Argentine justice system and reached the Supreme Court of the Nation, which endorsed the thesis of the accident.

Not satisfied, Zulema Yoma took the case of the death of her son before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and

managed to reopen the case that had been archived.

In 2017, thanks to Zulema's appeal, the remains of "Carlitos" were exhumed to check whether, as his mother maintained, they had been manipulated to hinder the investigation.

The documentary about Carlos Menem Jr. will also feature recreated fictional scenes, to provide an agile rhythm to the story.

Although the justice system did not find any revealing facts after reopening the investigation,

former president Carlos Menem changed his position

and stated that he believed it was an attack, after more than twelve years of having stated otherwise.

The series is expected to reveal the theories that Carlitos Menem Junior's family has about his death and the alleged cover-ups during the investigation.

The testimonies most anticipated by the audience are, therefore, those of his mother and his sister, who have a lot to tell.

The series will be available starting next Thursday, February 29, on the Max streaming platform.
