Marie Reim wanted to represent Germany at the ESC, but had to admit defeat to newcomer Isaak.
How is the pop singer feeling after her defeat?
Düsseldorf – For Marie Reim (23), the dream of the international stage is over, at least for the time being.
The daughter of Michelle (52) and Matthias Reim (66) had to admit defeat to the much lesser-known newcomer Isaak (27) in the German preliminary round for this year's “Eurovision Song Contest” (ESC).
But the young pop singer is already working on something big.
Only sixth place in the ESC preliminary round: Marie Reim is not discouraged
Marie Reim apparently takes her defeat in the ESC show moderated by Barbara Schöneberger (49) calmly: “I never firmly assume that I will win.
There is no guarantee for that,” said the 23-year-old in an interview with
schlagerpuls.com
.
The “Naiv” singer seems to be completely satisfied with her performance: “I don’t regret anything.
The performance was wonderful.”
The Cologne native is not discouraged by her defeat - on the contrary.
Because Marie Reim wants to restore the German hit to its former glory.
If not at the ESC, then in other ways: “I personally will give everything for that.
Some underestimate the hit and still laugh at it.
But the hit can do so much and brings so many people together.
And maybe it may take a short while, but the hit will take off.”
“Eurovision Song Contest – The German Final 2024”: the placings

2. Max Mutzke - "Forever Strong"
3. Ryk - "Oh Boy"
4. Bodine Monet - "Tears Like Rain"
5. Galant - "Katze"
6. Marie Reim - " Naive"
7. NinetyNine - "Love on a Budget"
8. Floryan - "Scars"
9. Leona - "Umdream You"
Despite the ESC bankruptcy: Marie Reim has every reason to celebrate
With her participation in the ESC preliminary round, Marie Reim also showed her critics.
And with success.
Although the 23-year-old will not be competing for Germany in Malmö, Sweden, on May 11th, she is in a winning mood.
The reason for this is the sales success of her single “Naiv”.
"You know what?
We don't have the ticket to Sweden.
“But we’re at the top of all the charts,” said the Cologne native happily on Instagram at the weekend.

Her preliminary decision opponent Isaak, on the other hand, has a difficult time.
Because the viewers are not really convinced of the German ESC participant.
