“India is the mother of democracy”
, claiming that his country would have put this system in place before the West.
The murder of a leading political figure by an authoritarian regime could have made him react.
A strategic partner
However, two years after the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has become an increasingly important partner for New Delhi.
Moscow was already its main arms supplier before the war.
It has also established itself as its leading oil supplier.
