Almost 25 companies presented themselves at the career information day at the Montessori School in Dietramszell.

Middle school students also take advantage of the opportunity to find out more.

Dietramszell - From bakers to road builders, from carpenters to professional soldiers: almost 25 companies from the surrounding area presented themselves at the career information day at the Dietramszell Montessori School, some of them in their own workshops.

The offer was not only aimed at students from our own school: students from the middle school opposite also took the opportunity to talk to employers and experts about career prospects and training opportunities.

The police also present themselves

“We want to give seventh and eighth graders perspectives,” said co-organizer and father Christian Hort on Wednesday morning.

“In the tenth grade you should actually already know what you want to be.” Nicole Seltier and Ilona Stoffels try to convey at the police stand that their job can be extremely complex.

“Traffic, criminal and border police, cavalry squad or water police,” Stoffels lists a few of her colleagues’ fields of activity.

Seltier lets a student try on a protective vest.

“Pretty difficult,” was the verdict.

The policewoman nods.

“But you quickly get used to it.

When you don’t have them on, it’s more like you’re missing something.”

But those who have the choice are not only spoiled for choice. “The job should suit you both in terms of skills and physical ability,” says Ludwig Schmid from the Schmid-Bäck' bakery in Geretsried.

“If I can’t see blood, it’s impossible for me to become a doctor.

Those interested should not be guided by the wrong factors: “You shouldn’t learn a profession just because the guy who introduced it is cool or your best friend started an apprenticeship there.” That’s the guy or friend in question gone – “the work remains.”

Test your dream job first

Stefanie Goeke, training manager at Weissmann Garden Design in Ergertshausen, sees it the same way.

Together with several companies that are affiliated with the company, 130 colleagues work in various professions at the garden designer.

Goeke recommends testing your potential dream job intensively with an internship.

“This also allows you to make your first contacts.

And it’s not uncommon for someone to find such an apprenticeship.”

In any case, 13-year-old Xaver wants to finish his application documents.

He stands at the Huber plumbing stand and makes his first attempts at craftsmanship.

“It’s fun,” he says.

“I could very well imagine this job.” Words that company boss Xaver Huber likes to hear.

“We are looking for apprentices.

Simply log in."
