With only four percent of the vote, the party, like the Left, would not enter the Bundestag if there were federal elections on Sunday. 69 percent of those surveyed expect that the economy is currently going downwards, only two percent see a positive development. Lindner's poll numbers are slipping to a historic low.

This is due to his role in the traffic light coalition, but there is also another reason.

Berlin – Christian Lindner (FDP) is more unpopular than ever before.

This is what a recent opinion poll revealed.

The traffic light finance minister therefore slipped to its previous lowest value.

In recent months, Lindner has been visible in the media primarily as a financial brake.

According to dpa,

internal coalition disputes over the state budget and aid for the economy have given the FDP politician

poor popularity ratings in the ZDF “Politbarometer”.

Lindner and the FDP are suffering from a loss of image

When assessing the likeability and performance of the ten most important politicians on a scale of plus five to minus five, the FDP leader slipped to his personal low of minus 1.3 in the barometer published on Friday (February 23).

In the previous survey at the beginning of February it came to a value of minus 0.8.

It's not just the Liberal party leader who is unpopular at the moment.

The FDP as a whole is currently doing poorly in surveys.

With only four percent of the vote, the party, like the Left, would not enter the Bundestag if there were federal elections on Sunday.

This was the result of a survey by the Allensbach Institute for Demoscopy (IfD).

Lindner, as FDP finance minister, feels the economic situation is poor

The FDP, as a business-friendly party, is suffering from the current comparatively poor economic situation.

Only ten percent of Germans think this is good, as surveys on the Sunday question also showed.

That's fewer than there have been in 14 years.

40 percent rate it as bad, for 49 percent it is partly good and partly bad.

69 percent of those surveyed expect that the economy is currently going downwards, only two percent see a positive development, according to the

.

In addition, 60 percent of Germans believe that the government should support the economy more.

And Linder is the focus as finance minister of the traffic light coalition.

Where should the funding come from?

The respondents disagree: If such support for the economy comes about, 62 percent say it should be counter-financed through savings elsewhere, 18 percent are in favor of more debt and 13 percent are in favor of tax increases.
