Ulm – In Baden-Württemberg, a rotor blade came loose from a wind turbine and fell to the ground.
The wing, which weighs around 15 tons, shattered into larger pieces when it hit the field, as the police in Ulm announced on Friday, February 23rd.

Due to safety concerns, there were restrictions on a nearby railway line and a motorway for several hours - these also affected Bavaria, where there were traffic jams and train delays.

On Thursday, February 22nd, a walker observed how the 40 meter long blade broke off from the wind turbine in the Bermaringen-Temmenhausen wind farm, located between Stuttgart and Ulm.
Due to strong gusts of wind, there was a risk that parts of the broken wing could be blown onto the neighboring railway tracks or the A8.
For this reason, speed limits were introduced there.
