The municipality of Pastetten's financial roadmap up to 2027 provides an initial answer to the cost question of building the fire station. Investments running into millions are also planned for road construction.

Pastetten - The budget meeting of the Pastetten local council was eagerly awaited - after all, Mayor Peter Deischl had indicated in January that there would then be more concrete cost estimates for the construction of the fire station.

So far, none of the planners have wanted to name a price.

The financial roadmap up to 2027 now provides an initial answer to the cost question. It shows an amount of 9.1 million (million) euros for the fire service, of which 8.9 million euros are earmarked for the fire station alone.

As Andreas Winner (FWE) summarized, the almost nine million included planning, construction costs and technical equipment.

Andreas Wagner (BIG) was pleased that the “first figures have now been made public” and made it clear that at the citizens’ meeting in April there should be a cost statement for the fire station project, with the bottom line being an “honest sum”.

He was referring to the reconstruction of the state road and the new construction of the cycle path as part of the construction of the fire station, for which the municipality is counting on funding.

The other large chunks that the municipality is planning until 2027 are 2.4 million euros for road expansion and renovation and 420,000 euros for broadband expansion.

The same amount is estimated again from 2028.

As Norbert Niedermeier from the treasury explained, 2.3 million euros are earmarked for repaying loans and saving for a building savings contract by 2027.

If all projects can be implemented as planned, the municipality would have to borrow around 6.35 million euros and use an additional 4.5 million euros in loans.

On January 1, 2024, Pastetten was debt-free and a loan of 600,000 euros is to be taken out over the course of the year.

There is currently an increase of 3.5 million euros in the reserves account, of which 1.8 million euros will be withdrawn.

The treasury has set the administrative budget for 2024 at 6.3 million euros, compared to just under 5.8 million euros in the previous year.

The largest income is expected from income tax, which has doubled since 2011 to 2.5 million euros.

However, the estimate is 82,500 euros less than in the previous year.

The treasurer's office expects trade tax revenue to be 600,000 euros, almost 117,000 euros less than the result for 2023. The key allocation - i.e. the money that the state contributes - is around the same level as the previous year at 770,000 euros.

The biggest chunk of expenditure is the district levy, almost two million euros flow from the town hall to the district office, almost ten percent more than in 2023. 1.1 million euros are deducted from contributions for childcare, for which the VG levy is 875,000 euros are due and around 693,000 euros for school association levies.

Almost 233,000 euros will be added to the asset budget.

This in turn is set at 4.2 million euros for the current year, 2.9 million euros less than in the previous year.

The largest expenditure item here is 1.3 million euros for the renovation of the dilapidated streets, of which Flurstrasse is at the top with 575,000 euros.

500,000 euros are earmarked for the fire service.

As Niedermeier explained, the first work on the house is already underway.

The treasury wants to cover the expenses with the savings, and 957,000 euros should also be brought into the coffers from property sales.

The local council unanimously approved the budget as well as the budget statutes.

This puts the tax rates for property tax at 380 percent and trade tax at 330 percent.

At the same meeting, the course was set for the first major issue of the year: the renovation of Flurstrasse.

Here, the water and road construction work was awarded to the cheapest of three bidders.
