The municipality has awarded the second construction phase to improve flood protection on the Ayinger Dorfbach.
Aying
– The second construction phase for the stream north of Aying will be tackled this year.
The local council gave the necessary approval for the awards.
An excavating company from Oberfischbach (Bad Tölz – Wolfratshausen district) will carry out the work for just over half a million euros.
Problems because rainwater doesn't drain away
It's about the village stream, which mostly runs underground through the town and often causes problems during heavy rain events.
More water needs to be able to flow through the underground pipes.
Even with normal amounts of rain, there are massive problems with surface water because it doesn't drain away.
The local council approved a concept for flood protection in the summer of 2017.
But implementation was repeatedly delayed due to various property issues.
The second construction phase, which is the focus this time, mainly concerns undeveloped areas north of Untere Dorfstraße in the direction of Biersee.
Building authority manager Martin Schildmann showed the local council that this work should be completed at the beginning of August.
According to the tender, the construction period should take a maximum of four months.
This is to prevent, explains Martin Schildmann, that the construction site is only served half-heartedly, in other words, so that the work can be carried out quickly.
Less costs than feared
It is pleasing that the cost calculation for the tender, which was significantly more than 100,000 euros higher, was achieved.
There are also additional construction costs, such as the costs for the contracted engineering office (around 52,000 euros), says Schildmann.
There would also be an open space design, which is estimated at around 15,000 euros.
But that still has to be assigned specifically.
In advance of the work, evidence should be secured in the adjacent buildings on Untere Dorfstrasse so that any damage can be correctly attributed.
The community can hope for high funding
Schildmann noted that the construction site had already been cleared due to the weather conditions.
The construction meeting should take place next week.
Overall, these are amounts of money that could put a lot of strain on a municipality like Aying.
With foresight, the community applied for funding at an early stage.
And according to the head of the building authority, this is a whopping 75 percent, “on pretty much everything”.
