The next information event from the BRK on the topic of the “Overall Concept for Continuing Professional Education” of the State Institute for Early Childhood Education and Media Literacy and the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs starts on February 29th in the MGC Gauting.

Starnberg/Gauting - The new modular training concept makes lateral entry and further training in working with children easier and is intended to relieve the strained staffing situation in daycare centers.

The “overall concept for continuing professional development” of the State Institute for Early Childhood Education and Media Literacy and the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs offers an alternative to traditional childcare and educator training.

With the certification as an assistant, supplementary and pedagogical specialist, competent specialists are trained, taking into account the special learning situation of adults.

In the blended learning format, there is a change between face-to-face training and online courses while working.

Lateral entrants have developed into qualified daycare employees

Stefanie Hottarek from the Henry Dunant Academy of the BRK Starnberg accompanied the final exam of the first module 1 in January: “Lateral entrants have developed into qualified daycare employees.

I was amazed at the skills the participants were able to acquire in such a short time.”

Funding is possible as early as the start of the second module in Block A in training to become an assistant.

Stefanie Hottarek explains the financing situation for daycare providers: “For participants in our Block A starting at the end of March, providers can receive up to 17,890.73 euros in funding for the period from July to December 2024 to refinance salaries and course costs.

Participants in blocks B and C can be grouped as supplementary workers or specialists during their training depending on the qualification they are aiming for.

This applies to participants in Block B from the first day of training and for participants in Block C after a successful intermediate examination.”

It is therefore worthwhile for daycare providers to cover the training costs and thus retain qualified specialist staff and improve the care situation.

And being able to offer qualified and reliable child care is a significant location advantage for every community.

An argument that also convinced the Pöcking community in the Starnberg district.

“We enable a childcare worker to take part in Block C with qualifications as a teaching specialist,” says managing director Sven Neumann.

“Another provider of a kindergarten in the municipality of Pöcking is also sending someone to this qualification.

Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, providers and municipalities should see it as a duty to provide appropriate training and further education.

We also need people who see themselves working with children.” In order to make this offer known and to answer all questions about it, an information event about this training concept will take place on February 29th.
