Major operation in the Alps: A hiker from Germany disappeared in the night - supposedly.
The surprise followed at midday.

However, the latter apparently applied to a hiker from Germany who was hiking in the Alps in Austria.
Not only was he very lucky, but he also caused a big surprise - but only after a huge search operation was triggered because of him.
Just recently, German Alpine tourists caused a lot of trouble in Tyrol.
The Vorarlberg police are now providing information about the current case from February 21st.
Accordingly, the 34-year-old hiking sports enthusiast from Germany set off from the “Piz Buin” mountain inn on Lake Silvretta that evening at 7 p.m.
The inn is located at an altitude of 2000 meters - a location where there can still be snow in February.

Even the darkness that had already fallen and the advice of the innkeeper and a mountain guide did not stop the German from his plan to set off on foot towards the Wiesbadener Hütte.
There are a number of examples in which recklessness while hiking quickly turned into danger.
Something similar could have threatened here too.
The Wiesbadener Hütte is not only a few kilometers away from the “Piz Buin” inn, but at 2,430 meters above sea level it is also quite a bit above the hiker’s starting point.
The general conditions alone gave cause for concern.
But the concern was then heightened.

The next morning, according to the police report, the “Piz Buin” landlord asked the landlord of the Wiesbadener Hütte whether the hiker had reached his destination.
However, since he could not provide any information about the German's whereabouts, he informed the emergency services.
And they came with a large contingent.
The Partenen mountain rescue service and the Alpine police, including a police helicopter, went on a search.
A total of 28 people were involved.
Cell phone tracking at least helped narrow down the search area.
But everything turned out completely differently than expected.

Because suddenly the landlord of the Wiesbadener Hütte reported to the emergency services.
The hiker he was looking for appeared around midday in the dining room of the Wiesbadener Hütte - where he had been staying for hours, but unnoticed.
The German arrived at the hut exhausted around midnight and simply went to sleep in a room without informing the landlord of the house.
However, it was probably a bit of luck that he achieved his goal at all.
According to police, he said he had trouble finding the right way to the cabin.
He was only able to do this with the help of an app.
It is not clear whether the hiker will have to pay for the costs of the operation or whether he will face consequences.
However, such a large deployment can sometimes be really expensive.
Holidaymakers on the Großglockner received a hefty bill for a rescue operation.
Another German hiker caused horror during mountain rescue last summer.
