A couple of days ago, the Senate commission gave the green light to a Forza Italia resolution on the criteria for the application of the tourist tax which, among the new features, provides that the proceeds must be invested by the Municipalities, at least for the most part, in tourism same.

And today from Jfc's National Observatory on Tourist Tax, as a preview on Il Sole 24 Ore, the calculations arrive on how much this "treasure" will be worth in 2024: "For 2024 in the receipts of the tourist tax - explains Massimo Feruzzi, sole administrator of JFC - an increase of +7.2% in revenue is expected, which will reach 846 million euros. 2024 is also the year of the introduction, in Venice, of the new access contribution launched this year for 29 days, thanks to which an estimated revenue of 4 million 800 thousand euros for the lagoon city".


    Jfc also announced the final balance sheet for 2023: the final collection amounted to 790 million with a significant +25.7% compared to the revenues of 2022. Among the cities of art, those which had the greatest increases were state Florence (69.7 million and a +64.1%), Rome (181 million estimated with +36.7%) and Naples (17 million takings, +33.2%).

The seaside resort that grossed the most was Rimini (almost 11 million), followed by Sorrento (7 million) and Jesolo (5.7 million);

among the spa ones, Abano Terme collects over 3 million, Merano 2.3 million and Ischia - the only one that records negative data in the sector with a -5.3% - just under 2 million.

Then there are the lakeside and mountain resorts: among the lakeside ones, Peschiera del Garda collects around 2.7 million, followed by Lazise and Como (2.2 million).

Among the mountain ones, Castelrotto collects 3.5 million, Selva di Val Gardena 2.5 million and Cortina d'Ampezzo 2.3 million euros.


    "Finally - Feruzzi continues - with the application of the 2024 Budget, if Airbnb fully responded to the regulatory provision, a good 167.6 million euros could be collected from this platform alone".
