However, not from emergency services, but from and to private individuals' cell phones: network operator O2 has set up a mobile radio station here.
However, a permanent solution is planned - although a temporary move to the other side of the street may be necessary.
As Schliersee's manager Jörn Alkofer explains when asked, O2 initially operated a stationary radio mast on the roof of the Alperie restaurant.
Since this needs to be renovated, the owners terminated the rental agreement with the network operator.
As a result, he presented himself to the town hall in the fall with a request to be allowed to build a mobile transmitter system on the still vacant building site for the new fire station.
This does not “require a building permit,” explains Alkofer.
The rental agreement between Markt Schliersee and Telefónica can be terminated on a monthly basis.
Investigation into new location ongoing
In addition, an investigation is currently underway to determine whether it is possible to permanently accommodate the radio system in the new fire station.
According to Alkofer, the antennas should not be placed on the roof, but rather directly on the building.
Telefónica would have to submit a separate building application for this.
The condition that the fire brigade's BOS radio system can also be installed at the facility would be included in a rental agreement that has also yet to be concluded.
“This means that two antenna systems would not have to be built in this area,” explains Alkofer.
But first the mobile radio station also has to move again.
According to Alkofer, during the construction period of the fire station, it will probably be installed on the municipal property on the opposite side of the B307: in the Neuhauser Kurpark.
