Verdi recently called on Lufthansa ground staff to stop work.

Now the cabin workers will probably follow.

Update from February 23, 2024, 6:43 a.m.:

Lufthansa passengers have to prepare for new strikes in the next collective bargaining dispute at the airline.

On Thursday, the UFO union declared collective bargaining for around 18,000 cabin workers to have failed.

She called on her members to decide on strikes in a strike vote starting next week by March 6th.

The Independent Flight Attendants Organization (Ufo) in Frankfurt announced that Lufthansa did not present a sufficient offer in another top-level meeting.

“We do not like to go down the path of escalation, but we have no alternative as long as Lufthansa does not respond to our legitimate demands,” said UFO chairman Joachim Vázquez Bürger.

The cabin has demands that are more than justified.

During the crisis, employees made major concessions to secure jobs.

Bürger said he expects a high turnout in the ballot.

Lufthansa passengers have to improvise on Tuesday.

Another warning strike at the company has led to numerous flight cancellations since Monday evening.

According to Lufthansa, more than 100,000 customers could be affected.

The strike is scheduled to last until 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday in individual parts of the company, but will generally end on Wednesday night.

According to Verdi, Lufthansa employees in technology, logistics, freight and IT went on warning strike on Monday evening.

On Tuesday, the airline wants to fly 10 to 20 percent of its planned program of around 1,000 flights.

Munich Airport warned of significant restrictions.

According to the operators, all 23 Lufthansa flights are canceled in Hamburg and Düsseldorf, and almost all in Cologne/Bonn.

Airports that are not on strike are also affected: In Hanover and Bremen, all Lufthansa flights to and from Frankfurt and Munich have been canceled.

There will be another strike at Lufthansa from Tuesday morning (February 20).

The Verdi service union has called on ground staff to go on a warning strike.

New strike at Lufthansa subsidiary – and pilots from the parent company join in

Update from February 16, 2024, 9:51 p.m.:

In the industrial dispute at the Lufthansa subsidiary Discover Airlines, the Cockpit Association union is increasing the pressure.

For the first time, she called on long-haul pilots from the parent company Lufthansa to go on strike in solidarity with their Discover colleagues.

The support campaign announced on Friday is limited to the Boeing 787 sub-fleet, which only has a few aircraft.

There will be a strike on five departures from Frankfurt between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Monday morning (February 19).

Other takeoffs with other aircraft types are not affected.

Update from February 15, 2024, 6:33 p.m.:

The next flight cancellations will take place next weekend: Everyone who wanted to fly with the Lufthansa subsidiary “Discover” will have to look for alternatives: The airline’s pilots will be on strike from Saturday.

The Cockpit Association union has called on its members to go on a three-day strike starting next Saturday.

The strike is scheduled to end on Monday at 11:59 p.m.

Since December, the pilots have already carried out a five-hour warning strike and two regular strikes to reach an initial collective agreement.

The Cockpit Association said the aim is still to reach a conclusion on remuneration and general tariffs.

Update from February 13, 2024, 5:00 p.m.:

There are no signs of a quick agreement in the collective bargaining dispute among Lufthansa ground staff, even after an improved offer from the company.

On Tuesday, Verdi negotiator Marvin Reschinsky described the offer as “anti-social” compared to the pilots.

In a circular from the union to members it said: “The group is providing maximum increases for other professional groups with incomes of up to 300,000 euros per year.

We on the ground with starting hourly wages of 13 euros, on the other hand, should continue to be content with a fraction.”

New Lufthansa strike likely – Verdi rejects offer as “unsocial”.

Februar

With the strike on Wednesday, the union wants to put pressure on Germany's largest airline.

Verdi is therefore demanding 12.5 percent more salary, but at least 500 euros more per month for twelve months and better conditions for shift work.

Negotiations are scheduled to continue on February 12th.

Ver.di had already presented its demands at the beginning of December and sent them to the Lufthansa Group.
