Gantz loses a mandate to Lalapid, Shas gains strength at the expense of Torah Judaism, and Meretz takes a mandate to Rem. The state party loses a mandate to Lish Atid and drops to 39 mandates, according to a Maariv survey today (Friday).

The balance of power between the coalition and the opposition remains the same as in the previous survey: 44 mandates for the coalition and 71 for the opposition.

Similar to the survey conducted last week, 48% of the respondents consider Benny Gantz the most suitable for the position of Prime Minister, 32% think that Netanyahu is the most suitable.

Half of the respondents to the survey reported that they are sure they will vote in the local authority elections next week, and about another quarter of the respondents think they will.

About a fifth of the respondents said that 'probably not' and 'certainly not'.

The expected participation rate in this year's elections is 51%.



As the age of the respondents increases, the willingness to vote increases, 69% of the respondents older than 60 stated that they would definitely go to vote, compared to 28% of the young people under 30. Among Arab voters, the motivation to go and vote is particularly high, 58% of them answered that they would definitely go to vote, compared to 49% among the Jewish respondents.

In the local authority elections in 2018, the percentage of voting among the Arab sector was 80, compared to 60% of all voters.

Findings of a survey conducted for Ma'ariv newspaper by "Lazar Researches" led by Dr. Menachem Lazar in collaboration with the Panel4All.co.il internet panel of respondents. The survey was conducted on February 22-21, 2024 and was answered by 508 respondents who are a representative sample of the adult population in the State of Israel over the age of 18 and above, Jews and Arabs. The maximum sampling error in this survey is 4.3%.
