A strong contingent of psychologists is now helping to cope on site.

Düsseldorf/Wuppertal - After the shooting in a Wuppertal high school, 30 school psychologists were on site on Friday.

A spokeswoman for the Düsseldorf district government said on Friday that there would still be psychological support offers for all those affected in the coming week.

“In order to offer the student body continuity and stability in the current situation through usual processes, scheduled lessons should be resumed from Monday.” On Friday, however, parents could have decided whether their children would go to school or not.

On Friday, all secondary school students had an hour with their respective class teacher to provide space for discussions and to come to terms with Thursday's shooting.

Afterwards, lessons were planned for her as planned.

However, there were no regular lessons planned for secondary school students.

“The teachers will, depending on the situation, accompany discussions between the students, point out what school psychology offers and be available for discussions,” explained the district government.

The school authorities did not provide any information, citing the ongoing investigation, as to whether the alleged perpetrator and his victims all came from one group and whether the bloody crime occurred in one classroom.

Questions about eyewitnesses were also referred to a press conference by the police and public prosecutor's office in Wuppertal scheduled for Friday afternoon.
