Vladimir Solovyov stands for confused ideas and wild threats on Russia's state TV.
Now he has an idea about war in the Middle East.
Moscow - Vladimir Solovyov, a well-known figure in Russian state media and a staunch supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has once again caused a stir with one of his infamous ideas.
He suggested in a recent episode of his show on Russia-1 that Moscow should supply Yemen's Houthi rebels with Russian weapons.
This would allow them to carry out attacks on US and British ships.

Solovyov is known for his tireless propaganda work for the Kremlin.
Houthi militia responsible for attacks in Red Sea
Since the war in Israel began almost five months ago, the country has been repeatedly attacked by the Houthi militia, including drone and rocket attacks.
The militia is trying to force an end to the conflict through attacks and shelling of ships in the Red Sea.
The war was triggered by the massacre by the Islamist Hamas in Israel on October 7th.

US forces say they have repeatedly carried out “self-defense attacks” on Houthi positions in Yemen.
The US military command responsible for the Middle East, Central Command (Centcom), launched four attacks on seven mobile anti-ship missiles and a mobile rocket launcher on Wednesday, February 21, Centcom said on the online service X.
In addition, a drone was shot down.
The projectiles fired from Houthi militia-held areas in Yemen posed “an imminent threat to commercial and U.S. Navy vessels in the region,” according to Centcom.
Kremlin propagandist wants “strong weapons” for the rebels
Solovyov believes that the Kremlin should supply the Houthis with weapons in order to take revenge on the Western countries that continue to support Kiev in Ukraine's war against the invasion of Russian troops - or rather: the "special military operation", as it is called Moscow is still the official language.

In his broadcast, Solovyov responded to Russian media reports that a NATO ally, possibly Germany, plans to supply Kiev with long-range missiles capable of reaching Crimea.
“It always takes two to tango,” Solovyov said, before mentioning the Houthi attack on the Rubymar, a British merchant ship.
“Now, Brits, do you want to giggle now?
Do you want to continue to, let’s say, help the Ukrainians?”
Solovyov then raised recent allegations from Russian government sources that a British drone was shot down by Russian air defense systems in the occupied Luhansk region of Ukraine.
He then returned to the subject of the Middle East and advocated arming the Houthis to attack US and British targets: “Such are the times.
The Houthis should have everything.
They should get unmanned boats, they should have powerful weapons, they should have everything,” Solovyov said, according to

Vladimir Solovyov is “the most energetic Kremlin propagandist there is today”
In the past, the US State Department has accused Solovyov of spreading Kremlin disinformation.
On its website, it lists him in a list of more than 2,000 well-known figures involved in Russian propaganda.
There, Solovyov is described as “possibly the most energetic Kremlin propagandist there is today.”
Solovyov is also notorious for his provocative statements.
One of them is the prediction that Germany will eventually exist “under the Russian flag”.
In October 2023, Solovyov attracted attention when he issued a warning about a new world war in which the West would fight Muslims worldwide.
