Highlights: The photo was taken on October 27, 2018. It shows a group of migrants heading to the U.S. border. The photo was posted on Twitter by a user named @jenniferbaldwin. The tweet was later deleted. The image was posted after the story was published in The Associated Press on October 29, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. ET. The story was about a caravan of migrants traveling to the border from Mexico. It was not about the citizenship question in the census.

Chuck Edwards, who represents North Carolina in Congress, posted a photo from 2018 on social media and misleadingly attributed it to the current Administration.

Republicans in Congress blame President Joe Biden for the crisis at the border, and Congressman Chuck Edwards, Republican representative of North Carolina, is no exception.

He recently did so by tweeting an image of a migrant caravan on a highway supposedly on the US-Mexico border, with a photo of Biden superimposed and text that says, “I did that!”

The photo, however, is from 2018, when Republican Donald Trump was president and going through his second year in the White House.

The photo was taken on October 27 by photographer Rodrigo Abd of The Associated Press (AP) news agency, on the outskirts of the city of Arriaga, Mexico.

In it you can see members of a caravan of migrants bound for the border with the United States, after the Mexican federal police blocked their path, according to the AP.

Noticias Telemundo called and wrote to Edwards' office for comment on his misleading post, but received no response.

Edwards maintains a tough stance against immigration, as evidenced by his legislative voting record in Congress and his comments on social media.

He signed into law a piece of legislation in January, the Equal Representation Act, that seeks to require that the Census reinstate the citizenship question and that only U.S. citizens count in determining the number of seats in Congress and College votes. Electoral in the presidential elections.

“Support for my bill, the Equal Representation Act, continues to grow as Americans wake up to the reality of how illegal immigrants are distorting federal elections,” he said in a tweet Thursday.

Edwards also voted on Feb. 14 to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas “for failing to uphold his oath by defying federal immigration laws, which continues to have devastating human and financial consequences,” he said. in a tweet that day.
