“gemeinsam.democratisch.colorful” is the name of a new association that was founded in Starnberg.

He is inviting people to a first action against right-wing extremism on March 3rd.

Starnberg

- Weßling, Gauting, Gilching, Seefeld, plus the chain of lights in Tutzing: There have been demonstrations and actions against right-wing extremism in several communities in the district in recent weeks.

Now the district town of Starnberg is following suit.

On Sunday, March 3rd, a sea of lights from the lake promenade will send out a strong signal for democracy and against extremism.

“Never again is now, this message has never been so relevant,” said Christiane Krinner at a press event yesterday.

She registered the appointment with the district office as a private individual, and in the future the association “gemeinsam.demokratisch.bunt” will be responsible for this and other events.

It was founded on February 5th in Starnberg, but wants to have a district-wide impact.

Krinner is the first chairwoman.

The eleven founding members elected Kerstin Jann as deputy and Johanna Collier as treasurer.

“After the colorful city festival last September, it was clear to me that this major commitment should be implemented sustainably,” said Christiane Krinner.

Because this requires a structure, an association is best.

The documents are currently with the notary.

“We are absolutely non-partisan”

The fact that she is also on the local board of the Starnberg Greens should only be a side note in this context.

Krinner emphasized: “We are absolutely non-partisan.

For us, it’s about wanting to work with democrats.” So the name of the new association says it all.

“We can only be successful together.

A robust and vibrant democracy needs an active civil society, and society needs a sense of community,” she said.

That's why the club and the planned sea of lights deliberately did not turn against the right as a political direction, but rather against right-wing extremism.

And that's why, as the organizer, she doesn't want to allow party flags on March 3rd.

“Anything non-partisan is welcome,” said Krinner.

The supporters of the call were – as of Wednesday – the Federation for Nature Conservation, the Condrobs Association, the Greens, the Evangelical Church Community, the Starnberg Climate Initiative, the Mutmachleute Association, the ÖDP, the SPD, the STAgenda and the Starnberger Dialog Alliance.

Other parties, groups or institutions would be welcome to get in touch, said Krinner.

The CSU, for example, was also contacted.

The participants will meet on March 3rd at 6 p.m., the start is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The organizer explained that she had applied for the promenade from the Seespitz to the Bayerischer Löwen.

However, approval from the district office is still pending.

There will be music, but not a traditional demonstration.

“We don’t have any money for a loudspeaker system at the moment,” she said.

However, a “silent conference” is being considered.

Krinner: “Then we distribute access codes and the participants can hear what is said on their cell phone.” If that works, there will be a few smaller speeches.

Cell phones, candles, lighters, flashlights, fairy lights

The main thing, however, is that as many people as possible come, exchange ideas and set an example with the lights on their cell phones, candles, lighters, flashlights, fairy lights or similar.

And something else is important to Christiane Krinner: “I don’t want populism, hate or agitation,” she emphasized.

There should therefore be no slogans like “The whole of Starnberg hates the AfD”.

The new club also relies on togetherness.

For us, democracy is “the form of government in which citizens can best develop, in which freedoms are best protected and in which the principles of the rule of law apply,” emphasized Krinner.

The colorful in the club name is the metaphor for diversity.

“We live in a pluralistic society, our political order lives through the recognition of and respect for diverse opinions, beliefs and interests.” The sea of lights should be a start for “gemeinsam.democratisch.colorful” on the way to strengthening these values .

This year there will be a celebration of democracy, as well as panel discussions, readings, music or theater events.
