Holzkirchen, Miesbach, Tegernsee: Rallies for tolerance and humanity are now planned everywhere in the Miesbach district.

There should be a sea of lights on the Point in Tegernsee.

Tegernsee

– People in the Miesbach district are now standing up to promote diversity, democracy and tolerance.

In Tegernsee there will be a sea of lights on the Point on Sunday, March 3rd from 5:30 p.m.

After Holzkirchen (February 25th) and Miesbach (March 2nd), this is the third rally that will take place in the district within a very short period of time.

All organizers are united by the will to take a strong stand against hatred and agitation.

Laura Mandl and Bernhard Fischer – both 29 years old – initiated the event in Tegernsee.

Rally in Tegernsee initially registered for 300 people

The revelations about the secret meeting between AfD politicians and neo-Nazis and “the growing threats to democracy” were the deciding factor for Mandl, a former Tegernsee SPD city councilor, and Fischer to also organize a rally at Tegernsee.

They do this as private individuals, as they emphasize.

“We were previously at the events in Munich and were totally impressed by how many people were there,” explains Mandl.

They wanted to bring this strong symbol to their own homeland, to the countryside.

The rally on the Point is initially registered for 300 people.

“But we hope and expect that there will be more.”

The demonstration on the Point should be supported by civil society

Everyone who wants to stand up for a diverse and free society, humanity and democracy is welcome.

“Human hatred, right-wing extremism and deportation fantasies must have no place in our country,” demands the alliance, a loose association of committed people from the valley.

Representatives of democratic parties are also invited to take part - “however,” according to a press release from the alliance, “the rally should be supported by civil society, not by parties.”

We therefore ask you to refrain from carrying party flags.

“It’s about our constitution and the Basic Law, everyone should be interested in that,” says Mandl.

The “Buntes Tegernsee Valley” alliance has already found many supporters

The two organizers' concerns were met with open ears in advance.

“We quickly became a group of twelve to 13 people,” says Mandl.

According to the press release, the Buntes Tegernsee Valley alliance is supported by the Catholic and Protestant parishes in the Tegernsee Valley, the Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO), the adult education center (vhs), Caritas, the PIA support association for integration and migration, the Kulturvision association, and the Haindlkeller cultural center and IG Metall.

The 29-year-old reports that we are also well connected with the other alliances in Holzkirchen and Miesbach.

The band Trovasur will provide musical accompaniment to the demo

The rally on the Point begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Trovasur group will provide musical accompaniment to the event.

Towards the end of the rally, as a sign of solidarity, all church bells in the Tegernsee Valley will ring at the same time and the participants should transform the point into a sea of lights.

You should bring all kinds of light sources with you, but no open fire.

Monsignor Walter Waldschütz and his Protestant counterpart Martin Weber will say an ecumenical prayer.

Anyone who would like to support the alliance can send an email in advance to buntes-tegernseertal@web.de.
