Three aeronautical unions announced a
stoppage of activities for next Wednesday
.
The force measure is in demand for salary improvements and will be for 24 hours, APA (Aeronautical Personnel Association), APLA (Airline Pilots Association) and UPSA (Union of Senior Personnel) confirmed in a statement.
"Given the intransigence of Aerolíneas Argentinas and Intercargo, the aeronautical unions communicate that we are forced to declare
a TOTAL STOP OF ACTIVITIES for 24 hours
starting at midnight next Wednesday, February 28," the three unions stated in a joint statement.
It bears the signature of the three general secretaries: Edgardo Llano (APA), Pablo Biró (APLA) and Rubén Fernández (UPSA).
These unions bring together ground staff, pilots and managers.
Aerolíneas Argentinas, the flag airline company, is one of the state firms that appears on the list of entities that Javier Milei wants to privatize.
Intercargo is the state company that is in charge of loading and unloading services at airports.
The unions explained that the proposal of these companies in the joint discussion was a 12% increase for March salaries, "to be paid the first days of April", an offer that they
emphatically rejected.
"The guideline offered
only deepens the loss of purchasing power
registered in the current parity period, leading to an unsustainable wage gap of 70% with respect to the registered inflation," they argued in the statement.
