The Röhrmoos cultural group has a lot planned this year as it celebrates its 1250th anniversary.

“We are not consumers like in other cultural associations, we in Röhrmoos are the makers,” said Michael Wockenfuß, club boss.

Röhrmoos – The 1250th anniversary of Röhrmoos runs like a common thread through the events calendar of the Röhrmoos cultural group this year.

Chairman Michael Wockenfuß demonstrated this at the annual meeting in the Gasthof Kiermeir in Arzbach.

On Thursday, March 7th, one day before International Women's Day, district home nurse Birgitta Unger-Richter will give a lecture at W5 in Schönbrunn about Viktoria von Butler, the founder of Schönbrunn, who was far ahead of her time.

Project week before the 1250th anniversary

The cultural group is also taking part in the project week taking place from Monday, May 6th to Friday, May 10th at the Röhrmoos elementary school to mark the anniversary.

Teachers, rural women and other associations are involved.

The children can look forward to medieval food, which is prepared together with the country women.

The project week ends with a medieval concert on Friday, May 10th.

With regard to the community anniversary, the cultural group is also working closely with the Röhrmoos local newspapers.

Celebration week for the anniversary

The cultural group will of course also be involved in the festival week, which takes place from Thursday, June 20th to Sunday, June 23rd.

The history of Röhrmoos will be discussed at an event in the parish hall on Thursday, June 20th.

The remaining events will take place in the Westermayr Hall on Unterweilbacher Straße, as there is space for over 600 guests.

Musical highlights

Wockenfuß also invites you to a concert by Edwin Kimmler in April, who is no stranger to the culture as a specialist in blues, soul, boogie and swing.

“Outside at the innkeeper” is the motto on Sunday, June 30th, when the Schönbrunn brass band plays again in the Mariabrunn beer garden.

The Federal Police Orchestra and chamber orchestra were hired for the well-known summer night of the cultural group, which will be celebrated in Schönbrunn on Saturday, July 27th.

There will also be a concert evening with Dixie Bones in Sigmertshausen in autumn and a reading with Tim Pröse at Brummer in Großinzemoos in November.

The cultural group will also be represented at the Advent markets in Röhrmoos and Schönbrunn, and there will again be a carnival wreath in the parish hall.

Wockenfuß and his predecessor Michael Christoph particularly praised the women from the cultural community who read to children in after-school care and at school every week and support them in reading.

Demos against right-wing radicalism

Former mayor Hans Lingl spoke out in favor of the cultural group taking part in demos against right-wing radicalism and also making its logo available.

Such a demo is planned for March in Inderdorf.

However, two of the 14 members present did not agree to Lingl's suggestion because the organizers of this demo could not be named.

Financial problems

It was also about financial problems in the cultural sector, because Munich Airport dropped out as the main sponsor.

Wockenfuß spoke out in favor of limiting the financial risks when engaging orchestras and keeping them manageable.

Treasurer Sascha Lechner explained that the summer night concert with the Wilde Gungl in Schönbrunn resulted in a loss of 8,000 euros.

At almost all other events they were “in the green zone, so this minus was bearable”.

The cultural work is still supported by the banks, the Micronova company, Josef Karl, the Upper Bavaria district and the community.

Wockenfuß is also “in discussions with possible new sponsors”.

Secretary Sonja Frevel recalled the large number of cultural group events in 2023, as well as the well-attended Advent concert of the Röhrmonists in Schönbrunn.

Although there was not an immense increase, club boss Wockenfuß noted that he was fortunate to be able to rely on many volunteers.

The cultural group currently has 21 members.

“We are not consumers like in other cultural associations, like in Röhrmoos we are the makers,” emphasized Wockenfuß.

The cultural group is such a cultural factor in the Dachau region.
