A truck driver wants to collect lost tension straps on the A5.
This ends fatally for him.
A driver who tries to evade also loses his life.
Langen - Tragic accident on Thursday evening on the A5: At around 11 p.m. there was a fatal accident near the Langen/Mörfelden-Walldorf junction.
Two people died.
That is what the police said.
What happened?
According to initial findings, a long timber transporter had lost its tension straps.
The 51-year-old truck driver apparently wanted to clear them away.
He was hit by several cars and fatally injured.
Driver tries to swerve and dies
Another driver who wanted to avoid the scene of the accident veered off the road to the right and crashed under the parked truck.
The driver was also fatally injured.
The northbound lane was completely closed from the Langen junction in the direction of Frankfurt.
An expert was called in to reconstruct the accident.
Several patrols from the South Hesse police motorway station, Frankfurt motorway police, Langen police station, as well as several RTW and the fire department were on site.
